Tamiko Mueller is a small business owner in Southern Illinois. An alumna of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Tamiko earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in Military Science, a Double Master’s degree in Workforce Education and Development (WED) and Master of Public Administration (MPA). Tamiko started her own real estate brokerage in 2008 in S. Illinois. She is committed to serving Illinois and our great country as a Soldier.
Tamiko has over 20 years of service with the United States Army. Tamiko has served on two different tours of duty in the Middle East. Deployed to Kuwait in 2002, in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), immediately after September 11, 2001, and the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) in Egypt in 2010-2011. Tamiko continues to serve our country every month with the Army Reserves where she currently holds the rank and title of Lieutenant Colonel.
As a third term Jackson County board member, Tamiko’s desire to succeed in helping gives her an understanding of the vital requirements of serving our community and most importantly each resident! Tamiko believes in civic service and working together to make a difference. Caring is the most important thing one can do for another. Tamiko started a not for profit organization, Amazing Sun Rise.org, featuring Home Sweet Home (HSH), to help and benefit homeless individuals and families.
Tamiko continues to help and give back to the community, from serving in the U.S. Army, to serving in a civic capacity on the county board and assisting her clients. Putting others first, and caring is the hallmark of what Tamiko does best. With Tamiko’s combined skill set, the desire to succeed comes naturally, as well as serving our community and most importantly citizens.
